Main Hall
Main Hall was originally a hotel designed by SW Foulkes. It was built in 1889 in the classic Queen Anne style and earlier Romanesque style. This made it the perfect place to house the girls that came to Southern Seminary.
Main Hall was the main residental hall of Southern Seminary for most of the schools exsistence. Even as the school began to grow and Southern Seminary added more dorms there was still students living in Main Hall.
Main Hall was also used as housing for Southern Virginia University students. It switched from female to male students. However it is not longer a resident hall and it is mostly used as practice rooms and offices.
